VANCOUVER, BC — March 10 was officially designated by the municipal government as the annual Lifestyle Day. Hosted at the Vancouver Art Gallery, the event brought together exhibitions, conversations and creative presentations exploring contemporary ways of living.

C-DESIGNS is a platform dedicated to incubating and showcasing outstanding Chinese designers, products and creative talent while supporting Chinese design on its journey to international markets. Invited to present Chinese creativity inside the Vancouver Art Gallery, C-DESIGNS introduced a carefully curated collection of furniture, lighting, art, fragrance, jewellery and traditional craftsmanship. The featured works attracted considerable attention upon their Vancouver debut.
The presentation included WHY GARDEN, the furniture brand founded by Meng Ye, one of China’s leading interior designers and a sought-after designer among prominent public figures. Also featured was intelligent lighting by Chinese brand MOORGEN, whose collections include works by many acclaimed designers.
Emerging designer Xu Mingyu presented bamboo-woven lighting that brings traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary design language. Xu has previously collaborated with international fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Valentino.
The exhibition also featured Prayer, a painting created during the pandemic by young artist Chen Hetian; handcrafted fragrances by Matkuro, inspired by the mountains of Yunnan; and jewellery by Yieon, a brand devoted to preserving and reinterpreting China’s intangible cultural heritage techniques.
Guests were equally impressed by a series of drip-glazed porcelain cups presented by C-DESIGNS in collaboration with a recognised inheritor of Fujian’s traditional white-porcelain craftsmanship. These functional objects demonstrated how cultural heritage can enter contemporary life through thoughtful design.
C-DESIGNS—Chinese Design—made a striking and highly acclaimed appearance at this prestigious celebration, presenting the depth, diversity and vitality of contemporary Chinese creativity to an international audience.
During the awards dinner, MOORGEN’s Millstone Lamp, designed by Steve Leung, and the Heartlight Candle, designed by Liang Jianguo, became highlights of the charity auction, inspiring enthusiastic bidding and creating one of the evening’s most memorable moments.
Through this presentation, C-DESIGNS reaffirmed its mission: to connect exceptional Chinese designers and makers with the world, bringing the elegance, imagination and cultural richness of Chinese design into global contemporary life.
